Final Destination 2

STARRING: A.J. Cook,Ali Larter,Michael Landis
YEAR:2003
RUN TIME: 1hr, 35mins
MY RATING: 8/10

Final Destination 2 is my least favorite of the series, not that it is bad by any means but, it just isn't as fun to me as the others. It starts off good but, about a little over halfway through it loses my interest. We are introduced to Kimberly who is our protagonist for this film, she and a few friend's are going on a road trip. Her dad is a little worried about her but, she reassures him everything will be fine. They are en route and Kim begins noticing weird things happening around them on the highway almost like foreshadowing in a sense. There is a truck hauling giant logs driving along the highway and thanks to it's impeccably strong chains that end
up snapping causing the logs to fall off and start a huge pile up. Kimberly's SUV is flipped over on it's side during all of this but, her and her friends are just badly hurt at this point and get to see all of the grisly madness going on around them on the highway. She spots a car on fire but, the driver is stuck inside burning and as he tries to escape a semi barrels through his car and flies towards Kimberly's SUV and just as they're about to get hit she emerges from the premonition. Panicked she parks her car on the on-ramp and explains to her friends that she saw the crash. A police officer walks over to see what the problem is and as she explains to him what she saw a semi crashes into her SUV killing her friends but, Officer Burke pulls her out of the way just in time. The survivors are all interrogated but, shortly after let go and go about their lives. Evan is the "Tod" of this Final Destination as he is the first to die in "Death's Design". After this happens Kimberly researches premonitions and comes across the flight 180 story she then takes it upon herself to find Clear in hopes of getting some answers. I'm not going to spend to much time explaining what happens over the course of the movie because it's the same formula as the first, one by one they die in the order they were supposed to on the highway [you know the drill] and Clear let's Kimberly know all of this. However, this time death is going backwards on the list and killing the survivors in the order from last to first. The deaths in this one are still creative and original but, it's the second half that bores me with the whole finding the pregnant lady so she can have her baby since our lovely morgue runner Bludworth comes in handy telling Clear and Kimberly that "only new life defeats death". If I do watch this movie I stop it where all that nonsense starts just because, I simply don't care for it. But, hey! that's just me and my opinion. So in conclusion may I remind you that it does not say RSVP on the statue of Liberty...wait..what?? Sorry, random Clueless tangent just wanted to make sure you are still with me here. Anyway.. Final Destination 2 is mostly entertaining and definitely worth a viewing. So if you haven't already, check it out! Until next time horror fans, you stay classy.
